About Us
For many years we lived in Auckland where we owned our own business on the North Shore. We purchased our Kerikeri property in 2000 with a long-term view in mind. However, we found the attraction of a lifestyle change irresistible—from busy Auckland to the tranquil, yet vibrant, Bay of Islands district. So we packed up and moved north in 2003.
We lived in the CoachHouse Barn while our home and luxury Bed and Breakfast was built in 2004. Meanwhile, we worked on developing the property, the orchard, and continued our interests: classic cars and a renewed passion for developing the new garden.
Molly, our little black poodle, and Sammy, our country cat, also call the CoachHouse property “home”. They share our living areas where you will find them in the sunniest spot on the terrace or in front of the fire on a winter’s evening.
The CoachHouse Property
Our property has many facets to provide you with a truly New Zealand rural setting. We operate a small kiwifruit orchard on the gently undulating slopes. A natural stream flows through and here you may spot the native eels basking in the sun. To the south the stream is bordered by native trees and ferns which are home to an abundance of bird life. To the north you can enjoy the openness of the “green” leading to the stream edge.
Our home overlooks this vista from a gentle plateau. You can enjoy the outlooks our property offers or you can get “up close and personal” and explore the open spaces, stream, bush and vines.
If you choose our Bed and Breakfast accommodation you will also enjoy our private garden and leisure facilities.
Come and join us to taste this lifestyle that we found irresistible!
Let us give you a warm welcome to the CoachHouse …
